Norse Atlantic Airways adds Florida to its London Gatwick network

Transatlantic budget carrier Norse Atlantic Airways is set to expand its operations from London, announcing its addition of two new routes to Florida in May. The Oslo-based airline will operate to Orlando four-times weekly, before increasing to daily flights during peak summer, and travel to Fort Lauderdale three-times weekly before rising to four-times weekly.

The airline, which secured a UK air operator certificate (AOC) last year, hopes expansion plans will “lead to a substantial increase of the airline’s presence in the UK”. Norse Atlantic Airways currently has a fleet of 15 Boeing 787 Dreamliners based at London Gatwick, with plans to increase this to around half of its aircraft before summer 2023.

In addition to London, further plans to expand operations from continental Europe are also underway, with flights between Rome Fiumicino and New York JFK airports due to take place in June. Rome will join existing European airlines that operate to New York including Gatwick, Oslo, Berlin, and Paris.
